Now-a-days debate becomes an important topic of discussion and is a one step formula to come to conclusion upon a real-time challenge. It will help students to boost their confidence and to make them bold enough to speak in any situation without any hesitation. Debate is an indispensible characteristic of an individual that makes him put forward his/her perspective in analyzing a situation of social cause whether is it in favor or against.

In order to address this issue, our college encourages them to participate in activities such as speech competition, debates etc. These have long- term, rewarding influences that encourage self expression. Debating especially moulds children’s overall personality apart from providing an avenue for them to voice their views. It widens their perception and sharpens critical and analytical thinking skills.

The Commerce department had organized the extracurricular activity on 30-09-2019 called Debate competition on the topic “Are smart phones good for college studies”. Students are largely participated some spoke in favor of the topic and some against it.

Mr. Vaibhav Shrivastava, the Head of the Department directed the event along with his team by giving specific instructions. The activity ended with the distribution of certificates to the winners as an encouragement by the H.O.D.
